Swamp Thing....

We got a new Swamp Cooler today.

The house had no cooling system when we bought it. We probably could survive the hot days here but Cady is such a little sweaty beastie. She hates being hot and refuses to sleep if its a little warm. She is such a funny baby.

So we looked into getting a nice swamp cooler with a thermostat and everything. Its awesome. I hated having work men in my house all day. It was impossible to got Cady to nap but they worked fast. They got all the vents put in and its working great. Yay.

Movies...

You know what I miss????
Going to the movies. I never get to go to a movie now that I have a little one. We have no one to babysit. Not even for one night. Its sucks. Especially when the big movies come out....like Indiana Jones and SATC. I am thinking about having Dustin and I go by ourselves he goes one night and I go the next.....
That is sooooo sad.....

Anyway I just wanted to tell all of you if you ever get to go catch a flick one hot Summer afternoon consider yourselves lucky.

Okay......

Okay....I get it. Alot of people dont like baseball and sometimes it seems dull enough to where I can understand.

BUT I love it.
I always have.
I enjoy listening to Vin Scully. I enjoy the feeling I get when a game is on. I love getting so into a game I am literally sitting on the edge of my seat. I enjoy it all. I collected baseball cards when I was little and had a huge school girl crush on Orel Hershiser when I was 8 years old and would have given anything to meet him.

So when I was trying to think of a good idea for fathers day I decided to do something a bit rash. Dustin is a big Dodger fan too. We love to watch games together. So I started looking for amazing seats to a Dodger game. They come here to Colorado and we have amazing seats to two of the games in the Coors Clubhouse....which is great but there is something about Dodger stadium. So I found tickets 4 rows behind the dugout in the fabulous Dugout Club. I had to get them. Its mid-week and we have to fly to LA but I had to do it. So.... this is the best part. After getting the tickets and planning the trip I decided to randomly write the "premium ticket office" for information on what the tickets entailed. Just so I can make sure we had the best time ever. Well she wrote me back and said..."let us know your travel plans and I will personally escort you onto the field for Batting Practice."  I was shocked.....so I let her know the time we fly in and she said..."meet me here at five o clock and the guard has your name. He will let you in before the gates open and I will escort you to the field for Batting Practice."

I am so excited. I cannot believe it. I didnt even ask for something that great I just wanted information....I cannot wait. So we fly out Tues. June 2nd....see the game that night. Then return for the 12:10 game Wed. June 3rd and fly back that night.....

Its going to be crazy but I had to share the story.
I seriously cant wait.....

Outside Time

We went for a nice walk yesterday and the sky was gorgeous. I swear...Colorado is absolutely stunning. Every day I am so thankful to live here. The foothills are as green as I have ever seen them with wildflowers everywhere its like a dream. Gorgeous!!!!

We had a picnic tonight...

We packed up a wonderful picnic and put Cady in her wagon and headed up our street to this gorgeous park that overlooks our lake.

It was a great break from the regular.

I just forgot a camera....

Yay.....for today!

Okay today is a better day.
I have decided that any day can be fun or special.
Today it pored rain all morning and actually hailed. So wierd...... then it broke up into a gorgeous cool day. Cady and I went for an hour long wagon ride and to top it off when we got back I made myself sushi for lunch. Absolutely delicious. *oh and the Dodgers won and I got to see my Russell Martin at third instead of catching---just to add a few more tid-bits of happiness.
So, yay for today!

Being a mom is so BORING sometimes.

Some weeks are just torture. Dustin has been working long days and I hate it. Its a good thing really but it is just so boring. I have a ton to do but Cady is at the age where you cant even try to go to the bathroom without her getting into something. So I cant accomplish anything. She pretty much runs everywhere and every cabinet or drawer or anything you can climb on is her territory. So as you can imagine I am just running around keeping her out of trouble. She is too little for anything we can do together besides read...(which we do everyday) I just feel like my brain is melting. The only thing that distracts her is a few T.V. shows she loves and I can tell you they are making me crazy. I can sing every theme song in my sleep and I know all the TIVO'd episodes by heart. Even if I am not paying attention they work their way into my subconscious and I begin to sing along without knowing it. Someone shoot me.....If I knew she would be safe alone I think I would go in another room and bang my head against the wall.

Birthday Time

I cant believe it. Our little Cady is going to be a 1 year old. Not until June 10th but I am planning now.
The "partay" will be a Barb-Q at Lancaster City Park....and I want to invite a ton of people. Especially everyone we never get to see. It will be June 14th and I will be sending out invites asap. If I dont have your address please email it to me. jaknight18@aol.com

I hope everyone can come and celebrate our little Cadence. It will be Mickey Mouse themed because I couldnt find anything for Yo Gabba Gabba.....(her favorite).

I invented the post-it....

Okay....I was bored. I admit it. Dustin fell asleep on the couch and Cady found a stack of post-its and was just tearing them up. I thought I would play with her by sticking them on the leather ottoman and she would unstick them and try to throw them on the ground.....but they got stuck on her pants. So I decided to stick them all over her.....lol. One kept tickling her ear.....she was pissed. It was hilarious. Her poor little arms were too short to grab them....so after a minute I took them all off. She is such a funny little girl and she puts up with me harassing her. We were both laughing too hard.

Attitude already.....

Okay, so......today I wanted to take Cady for a fun walk. There is this awesome lake right next to a Barnes and Noble not even three miles away so I thought I would take Cady for a walk around the lake in her wagon. Its a nice paved 2 mile walk. So we make it half way and I find she has ripped her seat belt right off the wagon on one side. She keeps trying to stand up and she starts to cry. So we take a break and I let her run around this large grass area with about a million dandelions. (she loves to pick them) So for about 20 minutes she is running around...gets into mud....tries to eat dirt.....normal kid stuff....
Well she usually just picks the dandelions and runs around holding them.....but this time she keeps trying to eat them. Each time she tries I say "no....icky," so she drops them. Then as soon as I look away she tries again. About fifty times of this and I am like, "Okay its time to go back." She grabs a seeding dandelion and shoves the whole thing in her mouth---with super speed. Then she looks at me like...HELP> lol.....it took a few minutes to get all the seed out of her mouth. She is such a booger. Then I get her strapped in the side of the wagon that isnt broken and make it half way back and notice her standing again.....she ripped the other side out....
She is super strong for an 11 month old. It much be all the dandelions she eats.......lol.

Happy Mothers Day

Well Sunday is my first Mothers Day.

I remember being a kid thinking it was so unfair that Mother's and Father's got a day and it was never Kid's day. So one day I asked my dad, "How come its never kid's day daddy?" He just laughed at me and said, "Because every day is kids day kiddo." I just looked at him confused.

It isnt until now that I understand. Our poor parents only got one day a year for themselves and even then it was full of half cooked pancakes and badly made school crafts. Why is it that we never appreciate our parents until we are "blessed" with becoming parents ourselves?

Rain rain go away....

"Its raining its pouring......"
Its been raining so hard here the last few days. Its been gorgeous....but the thunder and lightening freak me out here. It rocks my house. I woke up two nights ago thinking the worst...and I looked outside just as a huge bolt of lightening crashed down just a few miles away. It was crazy. Good ol Colorado... it sure knows how to storm here.

New sketch for magazine called..."You catch I'll cook"

Cut my Hair off.....yay

Cut my hair off today....

My Hero.....and secret boyfriend....

Okay so I am officially in love with Russell Martin. Being a fan of the Dodgers since 1988 (Orel Hershiser and Kirk Gibson) I have held my head low. Since that golden year they have been the great heart breakers. Sometimes hot....mostly not. Last season Russell Martin gave me a reason to hope again. He is the Dodgers golden boy and he makes my heart grow warm and fuzzy just like when I was 8 years old. I know I am in Rockies turf now and will probably get a beer thrown at me but I am going to my first Dodger game here in Colorado sporting my over sized authentic Martin jersey flashing my big 55 around. I am Dodger blue through and through.....even if they cant....well.....play consistently.
